Crow Chronicle Newsletters What's On How to Book The Venue ACTA Grounds Open Day and Markets Welcome to the home of Stone the Crows Festival
The Venue

Stone the Crows Festival has a permanent nesting place at the Australian Clay Target Association grounds, which are situated on a large site bounded by Copland Street and Tasman Road, Wagga Wagga. We utilise two gates for arrival of the flock, one through Tasman Road and the other through Copland Street. The ACTA grounds are just about 4 kms from the CBD in town.

The ACTA grounds have two shower and toilet blocks, two dump points, a clubhouse, BBQ/food court area, and lots of grassed areas, some with shady trees, others with clear skies. Powered sites are limited in numbers and capacity, meaning that you can't run every appliance in your RV at the one time or the fuses will blow. There is plenty of power for lights, refrigerators, TV but you can't run a jug, a microwave and a toaster at once. Air conditioners are only permitted for health reasons and must be approved by our first aid team. Some points are 10 amp, the majority 15 amp. If you are allocated a site with a 10 amp point, it is your responsibility to ensure that your vehicle and all leads meet safety standards for connection.

Water taps are scattered through the grounds so you can top up your water tanks by joining hoses with your youngberries be fair to all, no one can stay hooked up to a water tap during the Festival - this will be policed. These grounds do not operate as a caravan park so we all need to work together with the facilities available. Your assistance is appreciated.

Grey water can be trickle disbursed to ground as it is used. In that way bad bacteria do not breed. Please ensure that you rotate your grey water hose around your individual site and do not swamp your neighbour's plot. You do not have to take to a holding tank by bucket or other means.

ACTA are currently tendering for a brilliant new building which will incorporate a big auditorium, commercial kitchen and more! There are even 26 more toilets and urinals plus two full unisex disability toilets.

Each year we utilise two entrances through Copland Street and Tasman Road to alleviate local traffic congestion. Your Squawker's Permit will nominate what time and where you should enter the grounds. Arriving in the correct timeslot will mean the time between arrival and your being set up on site will be minimised. If you turn up before your nominated time, you will be asked to park until your time group. If you arrive late, you will have to wait until the siting team are available to put you in.

You can always have a cuppa and find new friends while you wait.

Map

With the building of the new centre for the 2018 World Championships to be held at the ACTA grounds, the layout of the site will not be finalised until December 2017/January 2018. Squawkers' Permits will be sent out once the site map is completed.
