Crow Chronicle Newsletters What's On How to Book The Venue ACTA Grounds Open Day and Markets Welcome to the home of Stone the Crows Festival

Crow Chronicle

The program and timetable are now on line - there will be a few additions when you get on site.

Well ......where to start???

After this Crow Chronicle is sent out and uploaded to the website, the next item is to contact all volunteers with regard to arrivals.  If you haven't received your email yet, please look for it in the next 24 hours. If you want to volunteer, we still need a few helpers, so just drop us a line to info@stonethecrows.com.au  with details of your shirt size and we will be back in touch with you. Arrival dates will either be Thursday March 17 or Sunday March 20 depending on the team you are working with.

This arrival time will be earlier than that shown in your Squawker's Permit but your site number will remain the same. If by any chance you haven't received your squawker's permit or as one lady so sheepishly rang said, have accidentally deleted it, don't hesitate to email bookings@stonethecrows.com.au and Hazel will resend. All bookings received up to January 20 have been sent out, provided you have paid your fees. We had one call today saying where's my permit and they had forgotten to put the cheque in the mail. Oops!!!

The booking availability is still sites on the western side of the ground available and a few restricted mobility on the eastern side. So if you're thinking of coming, the sooner you get your paperwork and payment in, the closer you will be to all the activities.  So far cancellations have been an absolute minimum and the chance of power is very unlikely. Priority will be given to medical certificated applications already received. If you absolutely must have power maybe the answer is to come as a day visitor and stay in one of the local caravan parks listed on the website.

One of our special guests will be Rod Hannifey who is bringing his b-double on site. Rod will be giving a talk which is a safety must, sharing the road between grey nomads and big trucks. If you haven't heard Rod discuss this topic, do try and come as it is really enlightening hearing things from his point of view.

Entry forms for the gReyVee awards are now available for the Poetry (original 32 line), Photography (A4 and 6x4") and Textiles and can be downloaded at stonethecrows.com.au/gReyVees-awards.html in three formats - Windows doc, Windows docx and pdf. You are welcome to enter even if you can't attend the Festival. If you are entering these competitions, entries can be lodged on site on arrival - full details on the entry form.

Games

The social and Australian Championships mean you will have plenty of opportunity for games of disc bowls and we are delighted to welcome Ron (Mr Fun! Fun! Fun!) Penfold as our MC on the court. For the Championships, there are three categories, singles (mens and ladies) mixed doubles and mixed triples. It would help if you could nominate your teams as soon as possible (even before you arrive at the grounds) so that we can see how extensive the draw needs to be. Late registrations will be taken on Tuesday March 22 when the flock arrives up till 4 pm only.

To our own Crow, Jim Haynes congratulations on being awarded an Order of Australia Medal in the Australia Day Honours List. The flock will bask in your glory as Stone the Crows Festival was specifically mentioned in the citation. The full details can be found on Jim's website

Should you have any specific queries, please don't hesitate to email Chrissy or phone 0408 729 580.

Don't forget our new Post Office Box 238, Kinglake 3763
