Wagga Wagga offers absolutely loads to the Grey Nomad tourist. From an authorised 72 hours stopover site on the northern side of the city (complete with dump point) to major shopping facilities, there is nothing we can think of that you can't find within the area.

So to make the most of the time before and after the Festival here are some other things you might like to include in your itinerary. This is constantly being updated so check out before you plan your journey.

For Grey Nomads belonging to the CMCA, you will probably return across the ditch following the Tasmanian Rally in late March or early April, which means a leisurely trip from Melbourne up to Wagga on your northern journey.

The Wagga Wagga Visitor Information Centre has been returned to its home in Tarcutta Street. The best parking is in the Tarcutta Street car park, here is our list of options:

Where to park

There are a number of parking options available around the Civic Centre Precinct (see map below) including:

• 4 disabled parking spaces located along Morrow Street
• 15 minute parking on Morrow Street at south-eastern end of Civic Centre, adjacent to Historic Council Chamber
• 1 hour parking along Morrow Street on southern side of Civic Centre
• 2 hour car park suitable for caravans, motorhomes and buses located on Tarcutta Street, opposite intersection with Morrow Street
• Bus parking along northern side of Morrow Street, adjacent to Victory Memorial Gardens

Caravans, motorhomes and long vehicles

Parking: The most appropriate parking for long vehicles is the 2 hour limit Tarcutta Street car park, opposite the intersection with Morrow Street. Parallel parking on any street is also allowed, provided any time limits or other restrictions are observed. A towing vehicle and caravan are permitted to park in marked parallel parking bays provided they do not use more area than necessary.  The area in Morrow Street on the southern side with parallel parking is available to such vehicles for the period nominated on the prescribed sign. Drivers are to ensure the whole of the vehicle is parked legally within the designated zone.  The use of the angle parking by these long vehicles on the northern side of Morrow Street is not permitted.  The only other restriction is a vehicle weighing more than 4.5 tonnes which is restricted to 60 minutes in a built up area. This applies to all parking with marked parallel bays on any street.

Water: A tap with potable water is located adjacent to the car park on Tarcutta Street, opposite the intersection of Morrow Street. Water is also available at the 72 hour no cost campsite at Wilks Park (as well as a dump point and toilets).

Wheelchair and Easy Access

Easy access to the Visitor Information Centre is available via Tarcutta Street, and the parking area on the southern side of the centre which provides ramp access.
